You pick up a lot of new things moving to such a huge and diverse place like Jakarta. One of those things is the Melbourne Shuffle, which is supposedly a very happening dance in its city of origin. Hmm, how come I didn’t hear about it when I was in Wollongong or Sydney?

Anywho, I saw quite a few people doing this dance in Jakarta nightclubs. It’s a very unique kind of dance that I somehow can only imagine Asians doing. I know this dance comes from Melbourne, but I just can’t imagine a non-Asian Australian doing this dance. It’s just so typically Asian.

So when I found this video of an Asian kid doing the Melbourne shuffle inside an Asian grocery shop, I just HAD to post it.

Hmm, in my own words, I’ll try to explain the growing trend of lo-fi, lo-tech, lo-budget looking videos, songs and other forms of artwork that is constantly bombarding us nowadays.

Insane guerilla marketing (well, geurilla or not would be debateable since the music blared out of the PA system, which means there was media placement involved) from T-Mobile. I know it looks and feels a lot similar to the one Improv Everywhere did at Grand Central Station, New York, but the additional dance and musical elements as well as the actors joining in gradually made this campaign a lot more fun.

Genius..!!

Don’t like the harsh look you’re getting from that brand-spanking-new off camera flash you just bought?

Have no fear!! Here are a few murahan fun tricks you can try to pull off by using everyday household items.

  1. Bounce the flash off a wall.
  2. Use a silver umbrella.
  3. Use a white umbrella.

Enjoy..!!

Back in mid-September, my office made a TVC for Telkom. We came up with a retro feel just for the sake of TV stopping power, which did work pretty well since quite a lot of people talked about it and even grew some buzz in the local advertising mailing lists. This is what we came up with:

Then today I found something over at the 2dopeboyz.com blog. There was a video for the Swizz Beatz remix of the Maroon 5 featuring Rihanna song “If I Never See Your Face Again”. I wasn’t prepared for this. And neither will you.

All the right stuff to make a kick ass viral.

But why, oh why, is the brand Nokia?
